Now in our 11th Year Soul Underground is back on Saturday August 25th,returning for this party will be Lasse Lasse Bång from Malmo Sweden , last time around he read the venue perfectly and I'm sure he will wow us once again with his eclectic selections...he's very classy :-) Making her debut alongside Lasse will be the lovely Sandi B who has impressed me with her intelligently selected dancefloor grooves and I cant wait to hear what she'll do as I know you will make her very welcome .. residents Paul Goldsmith,Jamie Taylor and Glenn Worthington will be providing full support throughout. The Hotel only had a couple of rooms left when I spoke to them earlier in the week so you need to be quick if you want to be on the premises ..I'll post details of nearby Hotels in the next day or so just in case . If the weather picks up then we may finally be able to provide the long promised Alldayer that we have been trying so hard to programme and make use of the pretty Terraced area outside in the sunshine against a backdrop of some chilled meet and greet grooves and maybe a few jazzy vibes. If you are coming up from the South then I am fairly sure that Colin Dimond is planning Freestylin in Manchester on Sunday the 26th which is only another hour away up the M6 so this would culminatively showcase a really great musical weekend to celebrate the Bank Holiday with two fantastic events ...sounds like a plan to me :-)))

Hi Soul Undergrounds next party will take place On Saurday June 23rd and we welcome back COLIN CURTIS who due to the unforseen snow was unable to make the February date . Colin will be ably supported by residents Paul Goldsmith and Jamie Taylor with some fine percussion provided by Glenn Worthington As ever the quality of the music is a 'given' and the quality of the clientele is unbeatable ...Hotel is selling out fast now with just a few days to go , lets hope we get some sunshine and its my Birthday week too so I'll be hoping for an extra good night :-)))

Time to advertise the second installment celebrating Ten Years of Soul Underground and now back in our old home town of Walsall.

The first one was more than a bit special to say

Its been a little while but we have finally found a new home for Soul Underground ..back where it all began in Walsall.
SATURDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2011

We're going to be at :

Upper Rushall Street
Walsall

(Just off Jct 7 of the M6 down the road from the original Wharf ) .

The night will run monthly and we are planning an intimate Weekender there too in the coming months as there are a range of really suitable facilities with an amazing cellar bar and function room as well as the Conservatory that we have chosen.

This is ever such a lovely venue and its perfect for what we need which is to get back to how it used to be in the old days of The Wharf..we'll be staying with the diverse music policy we had then and once again we'll be bringing a variety of DJ's/collectors from all over the UK and inviting the European DJ's back too,so a wide spread of music will be aired with hopefully something for everyone .

I'm also really touched that Glenn Worthington has agreed to come out of retirement and play at the first night for us

The nights can start as early as required,there is an integral Bar in the Function rooms til at least 2 am and we can dance til we want to

Fish will have his Simply Soul stall set up in the function room too

If you want to book a room for the 17th September ,the rooms are really lovely and we have concessionary rates of

£30 per single including breakfast

£50 per double /twin including breakfast.

You can book in anytime after mid-day and enjoy the lovely outdoor terrace and barbeque in summer or the charming old bar with log fire in winter ..we can pipe the music through to all areas. Upon vacating the owner says that you can have a leisurely breakfast or stay in bed as there is no rush to check out on Sundays..if you want to stay a little while longer ,then there will be a lovely carvery available from 1 pm ( save going home to cook lunch)
