It's 13 years of Soul Underground and we're going back to where it all began.

In July 2001 Soul Underground quietly began its adventures in a small cellar Bar of a large Hotel located just off the M6 motorway network in Walsall in the West Midlands.

"The Wharf "Bar was an intimate and atmospheric underground bar with a wonderful 'Cavern' like ambience and wall to wall dance floor which lent itself perfectly to the music showcased. It became home -for several years -to our Monthly (sometimes twice monthly) events and attracted travellers from all over the UK and beyond. The vibe created there was like no other and we had some of the best parties ever in that little cellar bar.

November 29th sees us returning to our first home and needless to say its going to be not just very special but quite emotional too, anyone who knows me will know my love for that venue and I simply cant wait to go back there. The bar is now called Basement Jacks and the Hotel is called The Metro Hotel in Walsall, the Hotel Rooms are extremely reasonable - between £40 and £50 for Doubles/Twins and you can book now by ringing 01922 722921 and telling the staff that you are attending Soul Underground.

It's set to be a great reunion for many of us and hopefully a great first impression for those new to the venue. We look forward to welcoming you down those famous cellar stairs and having a brilliant launch party.

The next night in our quirky new home takes place on Saturday 28th September , 2013 and joining residents Paul Goldsmith ( Starpoint Radio - Select Soul ) and Jamie Taylor ,will be Mark Randle ( Soul Purpose) and Paul Garland ( Soulfusion - Starpoint Radio ) playing the finest quality contemporary soul music enhanced by Glenn Worthington on percussion .

Our July launch party was a really good night and we will be looking to build on that this time around , the venue is superb and was virtually sold out following the launch  but there are nearby hotels with very good rates so please email me if you need any details . There will be food served on the day for early arrivals and the outdoor  heated terrace will be open throughout the event. 

Its going to be another great party , so hope to see you there :-)

Hi everyone , its been a long time coming but I think we have found a really lovely venue to continue holding our parties.We are going to be rehoused in the Royal Hotel Sutton Coldfield,a lovely town in the Midlands close to the motorway network.The date for our first party is Saturday 20th July,2013 which is exactly 12 years to the very first event we held at The Wharf (unreal !!) . The Hotel is lovely , its a purpose built music venue to cater for all our needs with lots of spacious rooms and chill out areas.We will be housed and self contained with our own bar, toilets and entrance. There is a large heated terrace area which serves food all day and until 3am.The bar will be serving til 3am also and is reasonably priced. The staff are just the nicest people and really are working very hard to make this a success all round,they have given us some really good Hotel deals ..Single Rooms £50 ..Double/Twin £60 and they have a few very large rooms which they are willing to let up to 5 people share for only £70.All rooms include breakfast and there will be a nominal £5 breakfast charge for the "extras" in the larger rooms. I'm not going to hype the night up,after 12 years most people know what we're about ,its not big or fancy its intimate ,family run,but pure quality and about showcasing the best music played from the heart and with passion.
