SOUL UNDERGROUND RETURNS SATURDAY 20TH JULY 2013

Hi everyone , its been a long time coming but I think we have found a really lovely venue to continue holding our parties.We are going to be rehoused in the Royal Hotel Sutton Coldfield,a lovely town in the Midlands close to the motorway network.The date for our first party is Saturday 20th July,2013 which is exactly 12 years to the very first event we held at The Wharf (unreal !!) . The Hotel is lovely , its a purpose built music venue to cater for all our needs with lots of spacious rooms and chill out areas.We will be housed and self contained with our own bar, toilets and entrance. There is a large heated terrace area which serves food all day and until 3am.The bar will be serving til 3am also and is reasonably priced. The staff are just the nicest people and really are working very hard to make this a success all round,they have given us some really good Hotel deals ..Single Rooms £50 ..Double/Twin £60 and they have a few very large rooms which they are willing to let up to 5 people share for only £70.All rooms include breakfast and there will be a nominal £5 breakfast charge for the "extras" in the larger rooms. I'm not going to hype the night up,after 12 years most people know what we're about ,its not big or fancy its intimate ,family run,but pure quality and about showcasing the best music played from the heart and with passion. SATURDAY 27TH OCTOBER 2012

Our next party takes place on Saturday 27th October, 2012 . The DJ line up for this event will be headed by the long awaited debut of TONY RAY ..fairly sure he's got fed up of my nagging and has finally given in , I am so made up that he is going to be bringing a little taste of SOUL INTIMACY to Soul Underground . Tony will be more than ably supported by Mickey J ..Michael is a big supporter of lots of soul nights particularly in the North West ,only seen him play once but loved his selections and I think he will slot in marvellously at our gig..so its another first!! Paul Goldsmith,Jamie Taylor and Glenn Worthington will be there for your entertainment pleasure as well and altogether we'll be emulating the lovely atmosphere of the last few events . Got some very special Birthdays in the house this time round with the lovely Audrey and Heather celebrating special Birthdays and the promise of some others too..so it should be a very special party indeed. Our last party in 2012, don't miss it :-)

Now in our 11th Year Soul Underground is back on Saturday August 25th,returning for this party will be Lasse Lasse Bång from Malmo Sweden , last time around he read the venue perfectly and I'm sure he will wow us once again with his eclectic selections...he's very classy :-) Making her debut alongside Lasse will be the lovely Sandi B who has impressed me with her intelligently selected dancefloor grooves and I cant wait to hear what she'll do as I know you will make her very welcome .. residents Paul Goldsmith,Jamie Taylor and Glenn Worthington will be providing full support throughout. The Hotel only had a couple of rooms left when I spoke to them earlier in the week so you need to be quick if you want to be on the premises ..I'll post details of nearby Hotels in the next day or so just in case . If the weather picks up then we may finally be able to provide the long promised Alldayer that we have been trying so hard to programme and make use of the pretty Terraced area outside in the sunshine against a backdrop of some chilled meet and greet grooves and maybe a few jazzy vibes. If you are coming up from the South then I am fairly sure that Colin Dimond is planning Freestylin in Manchester on Sunday the 26th which is only another hour away up the M6 so this would culminatively showcase a really great musical weekend to celebrate the Bank Holiday with two fantastic events ...sounds like a plan to me :-)))

SOUL UNDERGROUND ..just that little bit extra

Hi Soul Undergrounds next party will take place On Saurday June 23rd and we welcome back COLIN CURTIS who due to the unforseen snow was unable to make the February date . Colin will be ably supported by residents Paul Goldsmith and Jamie Taylor with some fine percussion provided by Glenn Worthington As ever the quality of the music is a 'given' and the quality of the clientele is unbeatable ...Hotel is selling out fast now with just a few days to go , lets hope we get some sunshine and its my Birthday week too so I'll be hoping for an extra good night :-)))
