Time to advertise the second installment celebrating Ten Years of Soul Underground and now back in our old home town of Walsall.

The first one was more than a bit special to say
the least and we're hoping to make the next one equally as good.

Musically guaranteed top quality , the venue is really
pretty, full of charm and character,add some of the best people around to share a dancefloor with and its a recipe for yet another very memorable party.

Its been a little while but we have finally found a new home for Soul Underground ..back where it all began in Walsall.
SATURDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 2011

We're going to be at :

The Lyndon House Hotel
Upper Rushall Street
Walsall
West Midlands
WS1 2HA

(Just off Jct 7 of the M6 down the road from the original Wharf ) .

The night will run monthly and we are planning an intimate Weekender there too in the coming months as there are a range of really suitable facilities with an amazing cellar bar and function room as well as the Conservatory that we have chosen.

This is ever such a lovely venue and its perfect for what we need which is to get back to how it used to be in the old days of The Wharf..we'll be staying with the diverse music policy we had then and once again we'll be bringing a variety of DJ's/collectors from all over the UK and inviting the European DJ's back too,so a wide spread of music will be aired with hopefully something for everyone .

I'm also really touched that Glenn Worthington has agreed to come out of retirement and play at the first night for us

The nights can start as early as required,there is an integral Bar in the Function rooms til at least 2 am and we can dance til we want to

Fish will have his Simply Soul stall set up in the function room too

If you want to book a room for the 17th September ,the rooms are really lovely and we have concessionary rates of

£30 per single including breakfast

£50 per double /twin including breakfast.

(For concessions please inform the Hotel that you are with the Soul Underground Soul Night when booking )

You can book in anytime after mid-day and enjoy the lovely outdoor terrace and barbeque in summer or the charming old bar with log fire in winter ..we can pipe the music through to all areas. Upon vacating the owner says that you can have a leisurely breakfast or stay in bed as there is no rush to check out on Sundays..if you want to stay a little while longer ,then there will be a lovely carvery available from 1 pm ( save going home to cook lunch)

I hope some of you will come and support our new night as we will be celebrating not just the relaunch but a very special 10 years of Soul Underground .

Well don't know about you good people but I think that 2011 has started in much the same way as 2010 ended with an abundance of quality new music in the offing already.

It's wonderful hearing it on so many radio shows and podcasts but for me the real beauty is hearing it loud and in all its glory over a quality sound system and being able to dance to it as well surrounded by all your likeminded mates.
With this in mind we'll be back at the classy Ramada Hotel on Saturday 26th February to dance the night away to some wonderful quality contempoarary soul grooves.

I've just organised this one pretty quickly ,on a bit of a whim ,and it was a case of grabbing a date which didn't clash with too much ( difficult to say the least )

If you love underplayed contemporary soul music and you enjoy being in nice surroundings then please pencil this date in your diary ..the last one there was pretty memorable and we went all night ..as they say I'm sure this one will be following suit with a great cross section of music on offer from all the DJ's .

As before we have negotiated some wonderful concessionary rates from the Hotel and you can expect to share a top quality double room with a wonderful breakfast thrown in for only £50 per room ..click on the flyer for details and I really would love to see you there :-)

I think Ive finalised all the details now for our new night ,we are very pleased to welcome back Sutty (Paul Sutton) who has been behind the decks on numerous occasions for us ..I think probably at all of the venues we've been housed in and even going back as far as Albrighton ..we love him ,he knows exactly the kind of vibe we like yet always keeps things unexpected and never safe

Paul Goldsmith also needs little introduction ,he has been a great supporter and friend to Soul Underground since the days of The Britannia.All round nice guy who consistantly presents one of the best new music shows around and brings that same vibe to the dancefloor in a live situation.

Glenn will be drumming along when he feels like it because we all love him :-)

Jamie and I will fill in the gaps beginning the night with lots of quality new music and ending it on a bit of a party 'send em home' happy type of groove

Fish will be set up with all his wonderful array of cd's and vinyl which makes things even more special.

We've been in touch with a lot of our friends from the Wharf days and for this particular event we will be hoping to recapture the feeling that we all used to get back there aided by backdrop of fresh new tunes..just how it always used to be ;-)
If you've been before then we can't wait to see you again and if you havent then we would love to welcome you to our night .

Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

Our August event is really special as we celebrate 8 years of the Soul Underground.

For this party Soul Underground is going back to its roots and inviting back two of the DJs who have given us some amazing memories from past sets in days gone by at The Wharf and Juice.

Miles Eastwick is a Manchester Soul boy now residing in London.
A lover of all era quality black music, fun- loving Miles has wowed us on a number of occasions with his intelligently programmed dancefloor friendly sets having a tendency to specialise in wonderful uplifting vocal gospel cuts... we can't wait to welcome him back to Soul Underground and reward him with some great Rainbow dancefloor action :-)
This lad has great taste and we just don't see enough of him so its a great treat for us when he comes to play... can't wait!

Soul Underground has always looked a little bit further afield in an attempt to treat its discerning clients to DJ's overlooked elsewhere and this time around we are very proud to invite back a great favourite of the venue all the way from from Brussels, Mr Thierry Boulanger.
Thierry has made the journey from Europe many times in the past and always leaves us wanting more of his wonderful taste in quality all era quality soul music. Currently enjoying success with his Brussels Soul Weekender which attracts visitors from all over the UK and Europe ,we are truly made up that he has agreed to pay us another visit and showcase some more of his wonderful tuneage.

This will be a very, very special night, these lads have given us so many memorable nights over the past years and this is another opportunity to see them in action, they are also great friends so expect a happy vibe behind and in front of the decks.

In the courtyard Uber welcome Sonar kollecktiv's Movementz. They'll be giving us a sneak peak of their forthcoming release 'In from the cold' on Knee Deep Records, keep your eyes pealed for this in the Autumn. Resident Paul Henry will also be celebrating his birthday on the night.
