The Story

Heading towards its 10th year this event has firmly established itself as a top quality and wonderfully unique event on the UK soul scene calendar. Soul Underground began back in July 2001 following the demise of our previous venue, the legendary Albrighton Soul Nights. We decided to promote a night that was going to be really special and take the soul music I loved into a much more contemporary direction. The emphasis has always been on new and recent release soul,jazz,gospel and house music with a respectful inclusion of all-era underplayed cuts where quality is key... to ensure a fresh ,diverse and eclectic approach we have always booked the cream of DJ's from the UK and further afield. Soul Underground has a very warm and friendly vibe, we’re like a big extended family ... we all work very, very hard in our ‘other’ lives and once in a while its time to party and dance to some fabulous music in the company of like minded people and that’s really just what we do.
